Jo Brooke
Trusts and Foundation Manager
WHAT DO YOU DO AT THE CHARITY?
I am the Trusts and Foundations Manager, responsible for applying to Charitable Trusts, Foundations and other grant making organisations on behalf of Encephalitis International. I am always looking to widen the reach for new opportunities in grant funding and to make long lasting connections with organisations who are keen to be a part of our lifechanging work.
WHY DO YOU LIKE WORKING HERE?
I am proud to be part of an amazing organisation based here in North Yorkshire but who are making a difference throughout the UK and on an international level and enjoy working with a fantastic team of truly lovely, hardworking and enthusiastic people – I never stop learning!
TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF
I like spending time with my friends and family, going to exercise classes, yoga, cycling and walking our black labrador along the beach and around the wonderful countryside in Scarborough where I live. We are also lucky to have a wonderful outdoor live music venue in ‘Scarbados’ which I like to attend whenever I can, whatever the weather!
WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES THE ENCEPHALITIS SOCIETY MAKE IN YOUR OPINION?
Encephalitis International is a vital network offering a wealth of advice and information to ensure people diagnosed or affected by encephalitis are better supported in every way possible. It continues to proactively promote awareness of this condition on a global scale and makes positive influences on approaches to the treatment of Encephalitis around the world.
