LECTURING/PRESENTING/PUBLIC SPEAKING/INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS/TRAINING
Encephalitis International has a vast experience of presenting educational material around the world to both lay and professional audiences.
Presentations and workshops are bespoke and created according to need. A wide range of topics can be covered, and have in the past included:
- Broad overviews of encephalitis (infectious; autoimmune or both).
- Patient outcomes and quality of life
- The work and scope of Encephalitis International
Much of our public speaking work is conducted by our Chief Executive Dr Ava Easton.
Ava is a well-published author and researcher on encephalitis, with 25 years experience in the field.
Dear Ava
Your dedication to spreading the word on encephalitis is remarkable-just a focused determination that is inspirational. Your talk was really the highlight of the session.
Dr David Okai, Clinical Lead Neuropsychiatry, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust
“Thank you so much for such a wonderful and thoughtful event. I was blown away at the impact it seemed to have on the patients and families. It was really special. We really enjoyed working with you on this.”
Prof Michael Wilson form University of California, San Francisco, USA
Consultancy
Encephalitis International can offer a Consultancy Service to professionals, organisations or communities providing services for those affected by encephalitis and its consequences. Our Consultancy Service is a bespoke service and is delivered by our Chief Executive.
In 2011 we worked with the Cherokee Indian Hospital in Cherokee, North Carolina to assess and make recommendations for their community in terms of understanding the needs of those affected and improving services in order to best meet their needs. As well as assessment we provided lectures, symposiums and provided a televised address to their Tribal Council and wider community. Their community reviewed their practices and employed a new position to help address sequelae and outcomes of encephalitis.
Every year, we are working with academic and pharmaceutical organisations to help them include patient voices and patient related outcomes such as quality of life and the impact on caregivers and families within their encephalitis-related projects.
I just wanted to say how grateful and proud we are as an organization to support and collaborate with you on the truly great work you are doing to improve the outcomes for patients globally.
Fintan Leonard, Patient Engagement Lead, Pharmaceutical Company Partner
