WHAT DO YOU DO AT THE CHARITY?

I’m the Fundraising Communications Manager, working across individual and legacy fundraising to help raise the vital income that supports Encephalitis International’s work. I manage fundraising campaigns and appeals throughout the year, create communications to engage supporters and fundraisers, and work on developing new and creative ways for people to support the charity.

WHY DO YOU LIKE WORKING HERE?

I love that my role combines creativity with a real sense of purpose. No two days are the same, and I enjoy finding new ways to engage supporters and help raise the funds needed to make a difference to people affected by encephalitis. It’s also lovely to work alongside such a passionate and dedicated team.

TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF

I’ve always been a creative person and have a huge love of animals – I actually wanted to be a zoologist before I got into marketing! I was also previously a ballroom champion and performed at the Royal Albert Hall in 2012 as part of the Olympic celebrations with my dance school. Randomly, I’ve also met five members of the Royal Family!

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES ENCEPHALITIS INTERNATIONAL MAKE IN YOUR OPINION?

I think Encephalitis International provides something incredibly important for people affected by encephalitis: support, understanding and a community when they may be facing an unfamiliar and life-changing condition. What I find particularly rewarding is knowing that the fundraising work I do helps make some of this possible and contributes to the charity being there for people when they need it most.
