Bella Bardswell

Observer Trustee

Bella brings over 20 years of experience in technology, specialising in developing IT applications and systems while driving cultural and process transformations to help organisations get value from technology. Her career includes leadership roles at IBM and Google, and she has also successfully founded and led her own tech startup. Additionally, Bella serves as a visiting lecturer at ISDI, a business school with campuses in Madrid and New York. Bella is based in the scenic Malvern Hills with her wife, dog, and two cats. She loves the outdoors and is happiest exploring nature with her dog, her camera or on her bike… seldom all three at once though!

Bella’s personal experience with encephalitis has shaped her commitment to Encephalitis International’s mission. Aged 20, just before her final year at university, she contracted Epstein-Barr viral encephalitis. Thanks to excellent medical care and a strong support network, she made an unexpectedly good recovery —a blessing she knows not everyone is fortunate enough to experience. Bella has been actively involved in the charity’s work for a couple of years, so when the opportunity came up to be an Observe Trustee, she jumped at the chance and proudly accepted this honour.
