Fundraising for Encephalitis International
As we near the end of 2024, we want to congratulate all our wonderful fundraisers – over 300 across the world – who have spread awareness and raised vital funds throughout the year. Their generosity ensures we can continue to support the encephalitis community into the future.
Our 99 Brain Gamers spent September challenging themselves with rowing, crocheting, yoga, puzzling, crafting and more. Throughout 2024, we’ve received donations from an even wider variety of fundraising activities, everything from:
- bake-offs to golf tournaments;
- raffles to sponsored step challenges;
- domino drives to street/garden parties;
- boxing tournaments to multi-day swims;
- navigation adventures to football matches;
- car club outings to HYROX races;
- skydives to music gigs;
- 24hr sim racing to steam rallies;
- and 100km runs along the Thames in the UK, to the Texas Triple in the US – with plenty of 5km, 10km, 10-mile, half marathons and marathons throughout Europe too.
Others generously organised Facebook fundraisers – in lieu of birthday, anniversary and even wedding gifts. Many people have also kindly offered collections from funerals and in memory of loved ones.

Charity of the Year – can your company support Encephalitis International?
It is the time of year for many organisations and companies to select their Charity of the Year for the following calendar/financial year. Perhaps you could nominate Encephalitis International if you or your loved ones work, and your company is looking to support a charity in 2025?
Please don’t be shy about investigating opportunities for your employer to support any of your own fundraising activities too. Many businesses will kindly match fundraising targets or offer top-ups. Companies can make their contributions directly via card payment, cheque or BACS and we can provide a receipt.
