Vicky Burgess
Fundraising and Finance Admin Manager
What do you do at the charity?
My role at Encephalitis International is Fundraising and Finance Admin Manager. I help out with month end accounts, processing our donations, regular givers and fundraising donations. I look after some of our amazing fundraisers that sign up to fantastic fundraising events to raise funds and awareness for us. I also look after our website shop and post out the orders. I also help out with the day-to-day running of the office and support other departments whenever they need me!
Why do you like working here?
I am very proud to be working for Encephalitis International which is based in my home town of Malton, North Yorkshire.
Working for the charity is very rewarding, personally. I find it brilliant that we are the only charity of our kind, helping so many people worldwide by supplying them with support and resources and working hard to raise awareness.
Tell us something about yourself
I am a hardworking and caring person, who loves animals. My family has a dog, 2 rabbits, a parrot, a hamster and 2 axolotls and I would happily have lots more!
A fun fact about me is that I took part on a 90s children’s gameshow called Get Your Own Back (which we won!).
What difference does Encephalitis International make in your opinion?
Becoming Encephalitis International, will ensure that people around the world are aware we are here no matter where they live and will receive the support they need.
