Damon de Laszlo CBE DL
Damon is Chairman of the de Laszlo Foundation – a Registered Charity – which provides annual bursaries to individuals within organisations and supports various medical and scientific research projects. He has been a long-standing advocate of our cause supporting many of our projects and activities over the years.
Educated in Scotland and Switzerland, Damon’s impressive career included time in the army before working in banking, then the electronics industry, manufacturing electronic components and connectors. He acted as director and board member of various prestigious companies in the UK, USA and Switzerland. From 1980 to 2025, Damon was Chairman of the Economic Research Council – a registered charity, dedicated to seek enlightenment on economic issues of all kinds, particularly those concerned with monetary practice.
Damon has also been appointed Patron of City & Guilds of London Art School, Patron of the Kurt Hahn Foundation, Deputy Lieutenant for Hampshire and on the Advisory Board of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
In 2025, Damon was Awarded CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the King’s Birthday honours for services to The Manufacturing Industry and Scientific and Charitable Causes.
