Emma Saunders

Ambassador

Emma Saunders is one of Sky Sports’ football most familiar faces, working as a presenter and lead touchline reporter on their Premier League and EFL coverage.

A trailblazer in women’s sports broadcasting, Emma has kindly summarised her connection to Encephalitis International:

“I contacted the charity in March 2025 after returning home from hospital where I was treated for viral encephalitis. Whilst I had recovered enough to be discharged; I still had so many questions about my illness, the physical and emotional challenges it still threw at me each day – and how I was going to get better. Everyone’s encephalitis experience is different and Encephalitis International is there for every one of us, with trusted guidance and information that I found invaluable in giving me the confidence and support to navigate my recovery.  Thanks to the charity I was able to get vital information and connect with experts who have proven crucial in me fortunately making a full recovery. I am now well enough to begin a new season on Sky Sports – and I will forever be thankful to Encephalitis International for the role they have played in helping me to reach this point.”
