WED Fundraisers
World Encephalitis Day (WED) allows the encephalitis community to join together and put encephalitis in the spotlight.
Each year, on 22 February, we ask our supporters across the globe to help raise awareness and vital funds by carrying out WED fundraisers.
We are always inspired by the variety of ways our wonderful fundraisers choose to support Encephalitis International:
- Challenge walks / runs / swims – going the extra mile for everyone affected
- Sponsored silences – the perfect money maker for chatterboxes!
- Jumbles / car boots – having a clear out can help others
- Bake sales – because cake makes everything better!
- Craft fairs – talented supporters utilising their skills
- Quiz nights – test you family, friends or colleagues

Set Up Your Fundraising Page
Already decided on the theme for your fundraiser? The next step is to set up a JustGiving fundraising page and link it to our WED Appeal page.
Click the blue button below and you’ll see our WED Appeal page on JustGiving. On that page, click on the orange ‘Start fundraising’ bar and you can create your very own page for your WED fundraiser. It will automatically be linked to our WED Appeal, so the money you raised will count towards our £50,000 target!
JustGiving also allows you to create a poster from your page and use a QR code to make it easy to share and collect donations online.
