Football auction!

On Friday 9th May, Encephalitis International will be holding a 10-day auction of over 20 football shirts and memorabilia including several items from Premier Leagues teams across England and Scotland.
The shirts have been donated by the clubs in response to a request made jointly by Encephalitis International, Huddersfield Town AFC and Peter and Kathy Haigh, parents of Eleanor, who worked for Huddersfield Town AFC as Media and Content Executive between 2018-2022.
Taken from the letter sent to all football league clubs, Peter and Kathy share a little of Eleanor’s story: “Eleanor was our only child. She had been at our family home in Northamptonshire and drove to Huddersfield on the morning of Saturday 27th August to cover a home game in Huddersfield that afternoon. Afterwards she drove home to her flat in Salford Quays and had a friend around for a meal and an evening watching Netflix. She was found unconscious the next day and passed away five days later in Salford Royal Hospital after life support was turned off. She had contracted encephalitis, where a harmless virus crosses from the bloodstream into the spinal fluid.” You can read more about Eleanor and her connection with Huddersfield Town AFC, here.
All the shirts and other football memorabilia – including a signed Jimmy Greaves picture and Chelsea FC football – will be listed on our charity eBay account and live for bids up until the closing date of 11am UK time on Sunday 18th May.
We thank Peter and Kathy and Huddersfield Town AFC for their continued support.
