My Brain and Me - Narrative Project

We are embarking on a unique project to capture on camera 20 stories of our members and five professionals to create an innovative film narrative portal on our website and DVD. We hope this project will offer support and hope to others and raise awareness of this little known condition. To get an idea of the type of filming we will be doing please watch Thomas’s Story

In order to select those that will be part of this exciting project we need to know a bit more about those applying. If you would like to be part of this project please complete the details below and return to mail@encephalitis.info or post to 32 Castlegate, Malton, YO17 7DT. If you would like to talk about this project further, please get in touch with Phillippa on 01653 692583 or email mail@encephalitis.info. If you require assistance filling in this form or would prefer to complete it over the telephone please get in touch with us on the details above.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for 10 stories relating to children and young people, and 10 stories relating to adults affected by encephalitis (this includes adults that were affected as children). We would like a variety of stories from those affected directly and from family members. We would like those included in this project to be at least one year in recovery.

Unfortunately, we only have limited funding for this project – we hope to expand it in the future, therefore submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the project at this time.

Checklist:

To be included in the project you must be:

  •  Person Affected or Family Member including friends
  •  One year into recovery
  •  Have consent from those involved to share your story
  •  If under 18 you must have guardian consent
  •  Be happy to have your story used by The Encephalitis Society to further our aims and objectives.
  • Based in the UK (unfortunately we do not currently have the funding to film internationally)
