Encephalitis Society is committed to conduct our activities at highest standards. The global nature of our activities and because sanctions apply across borders means the transactions we engage in, may be subject to sanctions imposed by multiple government authorities. This includes those of the UK, the European Union and/or the United States, amongst others.

The Encephalitis Society Sanctions Policy generally prohibits transactions involving sanctioned individuals and entities or comprehensively sanctioned countries, territories and their governments. At times, our Policy may be stricter than our legal obligations, and we may choose not to support certain customer relationships or business activity even if it is legally permitted. Failure to address the risk of sanctions violations may undermine our reputation and lead to investigations, fines and/or other penalties for the Society and/or individuals.
