Volunteers Video - meet some of Team Encephalitis here! - https://youtu.be/KhlUP7Eo5-4
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Encephalitis Society and have helped to turn us into the award-winning organisation we are today.
There are many ways you can become a volunteer with Team Encephalitis - and you don't need to be working in our office to get involved.
We usually ask for around four hours a month but we are really flexible, so even if you can spare one hour we would still love to hear from you!
We are looking for volunteers from all over the world, so please get in touch today.
Not only does it connect you with others, volunteering benefits your mind and soul and can bring fun and focus to your life. For anyone looking to return to work or education, it can help rebuild confidence and look attractive to potential employers.
We have a number of roles available, whether you are interested in raising awareness, providing support, or sharing information about encephalitis.
Diversity in Volunteering
As we know, encephalitis does not discriminate. It can affect people of any age, gender or ethnicity. The Encephalitis Society strives to create an inclusive environment, representative of, and responsive to, different cultures and groups, where everyone has an equal chance to succeed, and the diversity of the communities we serve are reflected at all levels within our volunteer workforce. We want everyone to feel welcome, accepted and represented, no matter their background, geographical location, type of encephalitis, gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion etc.We deem it important to not only have a diverse volunteer team, but to also provide diverse volunteer roles to suit a range of people and their needs, motivations and skills. We are keen to reach underrepresented groups and communities who are unaware of our services, which means we need volunteers who can speak different languages.
We have put together some adverts in different languages which can be found here. If your language is not listed but you are still interested in getting involved, we would still love to hear from you.
If you would like to find out more about volunteering with the Encephalitis Society, please get in touch with Laura by sending her an email or calling +44(0)1653 609905.
