WHAT DO YOU DO AT THE CHARITY?

My role at The Society is Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Manager. I work in the Fundraising team to help generate income for the work of the charity by writing applications for funding to various Trusts and Foundations. This may be for a specific project or for our overarching services. Either way, it is my job to build relationships with funders and tell them about the amazing work we do.

WHY DO YOU LIKE WORKING HERE?

It is great being part of a team who clearly have a passion to support those with, or who have had, Encephalitis. There is always an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to connect and meeting and chatting to those we have helped is a clear indicator of how valued the charity and the team are.

TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF?

I always have my nose stuck in a book - with my record being 32 books in 3 weeks.

I also make a mean Lemon Meringue Pie.

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES THE ENCEPHALITIS SOCIETY MAKE IN YOUR OPINION?

In a country – nay, world – where Encephalitis is largely unknown, the Encephalitis Society is a central hub for awareness, information, support and research. We provide valuable services to those who need it, and information to those who need to learn. Encephalitis is very real, and the Encephalitis Society succeeds in ensuring the voices of those affected are heard.
