WHAT DO YOU DO AT THE CHARITY?

I am the Individual Giving Manager. This means I look after our individual supporters and members who make cash donations or give regularly. I also look after donations made in memory and pledges made in Wills.

Individual Giving is about giving people opportunities to meaningfully connect with the organisation, whether that is through supporting a particular appeal, or making regular contributions to help fund the delivery of our ongoing Support services. It is also about ensuring our Members receive a fantastic supporter experience and remain connected with the organisation.

WHY DO YOU LIKE WORKING HERE?

It is absolutely true that the Encephalitis Society is a small but mighty team, that work in collaboration. No one works in isolation – we are all fully involved in projects and campaigns. It’s wonderful to be part of such a supportive and passionate team.

TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF?

Outside of work, I can either be found in a rehearsal for an AmDram production, or walking my dog, Rona.

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES THE ENCEPHALITIS SOCIETY MAKE IN YOUR OPINION?

Encephalitis is a fairly rare condition, and following a diagnosis, it’s easy for people to feel like they’re going through this complex, terrible thing alone and no one understands. Our Support Services combat this by connecting people who are affected by Encephalitis. I’ve seen how valuable it is for those affected, and their families to form support networks and friendships through the Society.
