Our Corporate Supporters

The Encephalitis Society works with a wide range of corporate partners. These relationships are vital to us. Every penny raised, and every service provided, goes towards our aim to improve the quality of life of all people affected directly and indirectly by Encephalitis.

Access Legal

Access Legal is proud to support The Encephalitis Society and the excellent work they do to improve the quality of life of people affected by encephalitis. Their encouragement and promotion of research into the disease, which can strike anyone at any time, is invaluable. Their efforts to raise awareness of the condition’s causes and the help they give families who suffer the effects of encephalitis are impressive. Access Legal too has an established track record of helping and working with people who have suffered a brain injury and we whole-heartedly support the work carried out by the Encephalitis Society.

"OUR AIM - To improve the quality of life of all people affected directly and indirectly by Encephalitis"

What more reason could we need to support The Encephalitis Society?

Well there is the fact that encephalitis can affect any of us, or those near and dear to us, so there might be an element of self-interest. Who knows if or when any of us might need the support of The Encephalitis Society in the future.

Or it might be the fact that the charity is run by a team who blend professionalism with compassion, who strike the right balance. We have no doubt that our contribution will be well spent, directed to where there is most need.
It could be the fact that in our work we deal with many people with acquired brain injuries, some with encephalitis, for whom we strive to secure compensation intended to “improve quality of life”. Yet we realise that it is only a very small proportion of those affected who we can help directly, not every person with encephalitis can bring a claim. Maybe supporting The Encephalitis Society is our way of giving a bit back to those who we can’t help but we realise have exactly the same needs as our clients. Perhaps it is a combination of all of the above. Perhaps it doesn’t matter why. As long as the end result is "improved quality of life of all people affected directly and indirectly by Encephalitis”, that in itself is enough.

The Talbot Hotel

The Talbot Hotel have been incredibly generous to The Society, gifting stays in the hotel, meals and events space. We are incredibly grateful to have their continued support.

Originally built in the early 17th century as a hunting lodge and trading as an Inn since 1740, the Talbot Hotel has both led and reflected the fashions and enthusiasms of Malton people.

The abiding local passion for horse-racing is ever-present. It's said that the hotel was purchased and enlarged by Thomas Watson-Wentworth Earl of Malton in 1739 in order to provide accommodation 'for the Nimrods who congregated at Malton for hunting, racing and coursing'. To this day, those trades associated with horse-racing make a significant contribution to the life and economy of Malton.
