Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Research Manager Job Title: Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Research Manager Location: Encephalitis Society Headquarters, 32 Castlegate, Malton, North Yorkshire Y017 7DT Team/Directorate: Support/Research Salary: £25-30k (depending on experience) Type: Permanent full time (37h) Base: Hybrid base (home/our HQ in Malton, North Yorkshire) Responsible To: Director of Services JOB PURPOSE Responsible for managing the delivery of the Society’s Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) and Research Engagement services to ensure the highest quality patient-centred encephalitis research. KEY RESULT AREAS/PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with developing and delivering the Encephalitis Society (ES) PPI strategy to enable the Society to achieve its research objectives. Manage all aspects of the Society’s PPI projects including attending and Chairing meetings, recruiting and liaising with patients and researchers, mapping PPI outputs and impact, and other related administrative tasks ensuring research is done for and with beneficiaries. Assist with collecting and analysing data to enable appropriate evaluation, monitoring and reporting of PPI activities to ensure we are using funding effectively. Maintain our AMRC accreditation to promote high quality involvement in research and collaboration with other institutions. Assist with external communications and marketing campaigns (i.e. Research Month) aimed at improving patient engagement with global encephalitis research demonstrating importance and enabling wider participation. Assist with organising and delivery of events for professionals to raise awareness of encephalitis and its advances among professionals and promote education and networking experiences. Ensure the Society’s PPI work is aligned to the NIHR Standards for Patient and Public Involvement to help the Society maintain its highest-level services. Assist in preparing funding applications to support PPI projects and provide input and expertise into other funding proposals to help meet funding targets. Key Relationships – Internal & External The Patient and Public Involvement Research Manager’s external contacts include other patient organisations and departments, beneficiaries (lay people and professionals), volunteers and other key stakeholders such as our scientists and researchers. Internally, the Public Involvement and Research Engagement Coordinator’s will work with all departments. Health & Safety Comply with safe working practices as defined by the Encephalitis Society.
