Job Title:  Digital Engagement Manager                                       

Location: Encephalitis Society Headquarters, 32 Castlegate, Malton, North Yorkshire Y017 7DT

Team/Directorate: Communication and Fundraising 

Salary: £24-28k (depending on experience) 

Type: Permanent full-time (37.5h) 

Base: Hybrid base (home/our HQ in Malton, North Yorkshire)

Responsible To: Head of Communications and Marketing 

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for managing content and monitoring engagement and awareness across all digital platforms with a particular focus on social media, digital marketing for all our communications and fundraising activities.

KEY RESULT AREAS/PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing our social media content across all our platforms to engage and energise our target audiences to help scale our reach internationally both organically and through paid advertising.
• Managing the website including Search Engine Optimisation to ensure we maintain a high Google ranking so we are easily found by those needing encephalitis information.
• Managing our Google Ad Grants account to ensure we use the grant effectively to maximise our campaigns and reach our key target audiences.
• Assisting with the production of digital content, including copy and assets, to enable effective campaigns (such as World Encephalitis Day), including highlights, Research Month and our Fundraising appeals to help us reach our communications objectives.
• Assisting with the production of analytics and reports for our communications. With that information, making recommendations and implementing best practice to optimise our digital engagement.
• Assisting the planning and delivery of our global campaigns such as World Encephalitis Day to ensure that we reach our communications objectives.
• Assisting with the monitoring of communications content to ensure it is reflective of our brand values and key messages so we maintain a strong and clear brand identity.
• Monitoring digital marketing trends to enable the charity to stay at the forefront of digital marketing which will help us to reach existing and new target audiences.

 Key Relationships – Internal & External

The Digital Engagement Manager’s external contacts will include developers, designers, production companies and the social community which is made up of members, volunteers and people affected by encephalitis. Internally the role will work closely with the Head of Communications and Marketing, Communications Manager and the fundraising team.

 Health & Safety

• Undertake any other duties as requested by management that are reasonably deemed to be within the scope of the role or necessary for the smooth running of the charity.
