Family Weekend 2017 There were thrills, there were spills and lots of fun at our Family Weekend in the beautiful surrounds of the Lake District over the August Bank Holiday Weekend. Over two action-packed days, children and their parents took on all manner of challenges from rock climbing, cycling, the Snake Tube giant slide, canoeing and much more. Held every two years, the Family Weekend is the perfect opportunity for children who have been directly or indirectly affected by encephalitis and their parents to mingle and make lasting friendships. Phillippa Chapman, Director of Operations, said: It was our first time at the Bendrigg Trust and we are grateful for at they really took care of everyone. But, above all, we want to thank the families for their support and enthusiasm. They made it such a lovely weekend! Nick Truter, who was joined by his wife, Bev, and their two children, added: I was completely humbled by the level of care and attention that everyone received as well as by the sheer awesomeness of each and every family in attendance.
