There will be prizes and certificates for best oral and poster presentations, awarded on the day.

We are currently inviting abstract submissions for the 2019 Encephalitis Conference.

The Encephalitis Conference is the only event in the world dedicated exclusively to encephalitis. It brings together professionals with various expertise and knowledge, ranging from etiology, pathogenesis, and diagnosis, to treatment, recovery and rehabilitation of people affected by encephalitis.

SUBJECT AND STYLE​​​​​:

Abstracts should be related to encephalitis and will be considered in any field or subject area. Participants interested in presenting an oral or poster presentation are invited to submit an abstract. All abstracts will undergo peer review by the Scientific Program Committee and may be accepted for:

ORAL PRESENTATION – refers to abstracts accepted for oral presentation at the podium. 

POSTER PRESENTATION– poster board presentation in the Poster Area.

2019 Encephalitis Conference, 2nd December, Royal College of Physicians, London

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN 

EARLY BOOKING RATES UNTIL 31st OCTOBER

The 2019 Encephalitis Conference is a full day conference with renowned encephalitis experts speakers, a dedicated poster presentation area and a wine and nibbles networking opportunity. CPD points will be awarded.

The programme will be announced in the coming months.

Early bird booking rates are available until 31 October 2019 as follows:

  • Standard delegate rate £50 with 50% discount if place booked before 31 October 2019
  • Student delegate rate £10

Feedback from our 2018 Encephalitis Conference states that 100% of attendees would recommend it to a colleague and also felt more informed about encephalitis research. For more information about the 2018 Conference, please read the Conference Report published in the ACNR.


BURSARY PLACES AVAILABLE

Deadline: 30th September 2019

The Encephalitis Society is currently involved and supports projects which aim to improve the diagnosis and management of encephalitis in countries such as Brazil, Malawi and India. To encourage participation to the Conference, we are pleased to offer three bursaries towards the Conference costs to applicants from Brazil, Malawi and India.

Each bursary consists of:

  • £500.
  • Free entry to the Conference.
  • Two nights 4 star accommodation in London for the night before and the night of the conference.

Criteria

  • Medical professional of any level resident in Brazil, Malawi or India.
  • Professional member of the Encephalitis Society.
  • The bursary is intended for those, who do not have full financial support from their hospital/institution or any other external sources. 

Conditions

  • Winners are expected to attend the full day conference.
  • Winners are expected to obtain the appropriate visa to attend the Conference.
  • Winners will need to write a post for our blog or an article for our Connect Newsletter about their experience at the Conference no later than 31st December 2019.
  • All successful applicants will be required to refund the full bursary, if they fail to attend the conference and take up the supported place. 
  • Winners are expected to pay all other costs/expenses not covered by the Bursary.

How to apply

To submit your application for the bursary place, please write no more than 500 words saying what you would get out of attending the conference and how you would share what you have learnt with others. Please send your application to [email protected] with the title “Bursary Application” by 30th September 2019 and include the following details:

  • Title and full name.
  • Contact details.
  • Occupation/job title and place of work/educational Institution.
  • Letter of recommendation from your supervisor/line manager/tutor.
