The Adult Support Service is a part of the group that provides information and advice on encephalitis, its after-effects, to adults who have been affected and their families, friends and carers.

Help and Support can be provided via the telephone, by letter, e-mail or tape, and on rare occasions of exceptional need, by outreach visiting.

The service is run by Ava Easton, BSc Hons, Dip App S.S. Ava has many years experience of working with people who have disabilities and she has been running the Adult Support Service since April 2000.

The service is also involved in providing support meetings around the country where speakers talk about the illness and about various aspects of rehabilitation. These meetings are also an opportunity for people to get together, talking with, and supporting each other.

Ava also speaks at various professional group gatherings around the country in an attempt to nurture a greater understanding of Encephalitis and its after-effects.
