BBC Children in Need are to fund the cost of animating our storybook for children “Gilley the Giraffe … who changed”.
Some children who have been ill with encephalitis have problems with reading, visual perception and understanding. The animated format of the story will enable these children to gain an understanding of their illness that is not achievable through reading the book.
